Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement describes how we use and safeguard information that is collected from visitors to the White & Case Graduate Recruitment Website. Should you have any questions about this Privacy Statement, or our Graduate Recruitment or vacation placement programmes at the London office, please contact Shahnaz Begum at trainee@whitecase.com.

This website is primarily for the use of future or prospective trainee solicitors at the London office, and students who are enrolled or interested in enrolling in the White & Case vacation placement programme.

Visitors to this website do not have to provide any information to gain access unless visiting that part reserved for future trainee solicitors who have accepted training contracts, those who wish to apply for a training contract on-line, or candidates who wish to apply online to join the vacation placement programme.

Future trainees who have accepted training contracts will have been issued with a password which will need to be submitted, together with the trainee's name in the appropriate section of the website before being able to access the Future Trainees section. Once in this section, Future Trainees may leave their contact information and see the contact information of other future trainee solicitors joining White & Case.

Visitors to this website who wish to apply on-line for a training contract or candidates who wish to apply online to join the vacation placement programme may complete and submit an application following the instructions on the on-line application forms.

How we use your personal information

White & Case  will use your personal information  only for the purposes of communicating with you, for instance to tell you about future White & Case events that may be of interest, or for processing applications for training contracts or for our vacation placement programme. White & Case will not sell, rent or lease the information you provide through this website. White & Case is a global law firm and you should be aware that your personal information may be shared with our other offices which may be located in countries which do not have laws providing levels of data protection equivalent to those in, for example, the European Union. We may also use third parties, such as processing agents, for the purposes of providing services in connection with the operation and maintenance of this website. This may include services in connection with the completion and submission of online applications and website hosting. White & Case will control and be responsible for the use of your information and will ensure that all offices of White & Case and any third parties providing services to us in connection with this website take appropriate steps to protect your personal information. It should be noted, however, that although White & Case aims to protect your personal information against any unauthorised disclosure, we cannot guarantee that your personal information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this Policy Statement.

Where necessary we rely on your agreement, given through the registration process, to allow us to make your personal information available to other registered alumni and our hosting service provider.

The only other circumstances in which we may disclose your information to third parties is where you have given your consent to a specific disclosure or where we are permitted or required to do so in the limited circumstances described under the Data

Protection Act 1988.

We may use your personal information to send you communications and information which we think will be of interest to our alumni. Please let us know if you do not wish to receive these communications by adjusting your preferences.

Updating or amending personal information

If you believe the personal information we have about you is in any way inaccurate or otherwise wish to make changes to it, you may do so in accordance with instructions set out in the Future Trainees section. Alternatively, you may e-mail trainee@whitecase.com to make the requested changes.
